DAVID LLOYD GEORGE stated that the First World War was conducted as if there were no limit to the number of men who were fit to be thrown into the furnace. He stated that he had been to the front and witnessed men marching into the furnace. The cartoon above is a depiction of what occurred in the Second World War, but it is an exact depiction of what happened in the Holocaust. But it also could have been a depiction of the First World War, in which nine-million men were immolated.
In Hitler's mind, however, Jews had escaped immolation in the War by shirking their duty to fight (although factually this was not true--German Jews died in the same proportion as non-Jewish Germans).
Hitler compelled Jews to be immolated in ovens in death camps.
The First World War and Holocaust were two sides of the same coin: the immolation of millions of human beings.
“Every nation was profligate of its manpower and conducted the war as if there were no limit to the number of men who were fit to be thrown into the furnace to feed the flames of war.”
David Lloyd George speech of Nov. 24, 1918--depicting
British soldiers of the First World War being "marched into the furnace."
"I cannot think what these men have gone through. I have been there at the door of the furnace and witnessed it. I saw them march into the furnace.”
