Leaders put forth psychotic fantasies that define or construct social reality--thus rendering people who embrace these fantasies no longer psychotic.
Political leaders introduce psychotic ideas into the public domain. Insofar as members of society come to share the leader's delusions, these delusions are rendered "normative."
Shared psychosis becomes "reality."
People living within the domain of political rhetoric become immersed within this psychotic delusion. Everyone feels or senses this psychotic dimension of reality; but people don't think or speak about things in these terms. We no longer recognize psychopathology as psychopathology when an entire society becomes immersed within a psychotic delusion.
