HISTORICAL DOCUMENTATION:
The Social Construction of Mass-Murder"
Richard Koenigsberg
Abstract: “History” records acts of political leaders who have killed a lot of people. Historical significance is measured by counting skulls. Napoleon, Hitler, Stalin and Mao (see photos below) are chronicled because they produced a monumental number of cripples and corpses.
These men produce the behavior that historians require and desire. The recognition that eventually there will be a "historical record" is prior to the behavior that constitutes the historical record. The template produces the behavior: "If you slaughter a large number of people, we will remember you."
Historians record "what happened." However, what happens is determined by what political leaders know will be remembered and recorded. Historians fuflfill the dreams of political murderers: recording and remembering what they have "accomplished."
"I kill, therefore I am."
"I kill, therefore I will be remembered."
"I kill, therefore I will be remembered forever."
