PSYCHOPATHOLOGY IS CONTAINED WITHIN THE NORMATIVE STRUCTURES OF SOCIETY
Richard Koenigsberg

It is not difficult to look back upon the Twentieth Century and to characterize many historical events and episodes as “sick;” profoundly pathological.

However, our intuitive or human reaction has not been matched by a systematic, scientific effort to conceptualize and analyze the thinking and behavior of societal groups as psychopathological.

We shy away from saying that pathology may be contained within the normative structures of society; to articulate a concept of collective psychopathology.
