I wrote the following precisely ten years ago (on Facebook):  "Public Discourse = nonsense and people arguing against nonsense."

If you are watching the News or a "Talk Program" on television or the Internet right now, this is exactly what you are observing: People conveying nonsensical ideas put forth by "leaders"--and reporters and commentators pointing out how nonsensical these ideas are (and occasionally showing support for these nonsensical ideas).
