Library of Social Science is moving from Newsletters--to focusing on conducting ZOOM interviews with selected individuals. The Newsletters have allowed Richard Koenigsberg and other top scholars writing on collective forms of violence to articulate their theories on the meanings of warfare, genocide, terrorism (and Hitler).
According to data provided by iContact, we've sent out 3215 Newsletters in the past five or so years. The iContact application provides a complete record of who receives the Newsletters which Newsletter each subscriber reads, and how many times each individual opens and reads one of our Newsletter (see statistical data below computed by Andrew Hammer below).
This methodology, however, does not allow for a sufficient amount of feedback. We now move toward an interactive approach, beginning with ZOOM CONVERSATIONS WITH SELECTED INDIVIDUALS, bringing people together to discuss important ideas and promoting articles and books authored by significant scholars writing on collective forms of violence.
Library of Social Science already has distributed and promoted the work of prominent scholars in the field, to name just a few: Scott Atran, Ivan Strenski, Howard Bloom, Walter Skya, Nancy Hartevelt Kobrin, Klaus Vondung, Charles Ashbach, Yale Magrass, James Tyner, Roger Griffin, and Michael Geyer.
Thank you for being a regular reader,
Mei Ha Chan, Executive Director
Library of Social Science
PS: Our colleague, Andrew Hammer, one of the world's top computer engineers, did a statistical analysis of the iContact data and discovered that people have opened LSS Newsletters 2.5 million times since we have been been distributing them. Yes, that number is correct: two-and-one-half-million-times.
