WE PRETEND MEN ARE AGGRESSIVE WARRIORS (MURDERERS) SO WE CAN SACRIFICE (KILL) THEM WITH A CLEAR CONSCIENCE.

"We turn men into aggressive warriors so we can kill them more easily." (Carolyn Marvin)

"Sacrificial delegates become murderers so that we can kill them more easily." (Carolyn Marvin)

This is the most diabolic mechanism, in which nearly everyone participates: pretending men are "aggressive" and "violent," bad-mother fuckers who enjoy killing.

Then when the society (the institution) puts soldiers into battle and they are killed, people can pretend it's the soldier's fault. "Look, men are so violent and aggressive, they deserve the death they receive." What a fiendish, dishonest mechanism.

I've never mentioned this before, but my critique of warfare is not a critique of soldiers. They are the "pawns" of the institution. My critique of soldiers is that they often do not have the courage to resist what their societies ask them to do. They buy into the fantasy of courage and heroism.

I often use the example of the D-Day attack at Omaha Beach during the Second World War, depicted in Saving Private Ryan (longer version here, shorter version here). Anyone who imagines that this attack--in which thousands of men were virtually helpless and met instant death is an example of "male aggression"--well...you can fill in the rest of the sentence.
