Human beings die and kill for abstract ideas:
Nothing to do with biology or "male aggression"

As indicating recently, I'm not going to be creating new posts  in the future--as I prepare for a lecture tour.

But I wish to summarize some of my findings or conclusions based on 30 years of research and 10 years of Newsletters.

Please watch the opening scene of Saving Private Ryan.

What the young men were doing had nothing to do with "male aggression" or biology. What a bizarre explanation of warfare, which is a societal phenomenon. The soldiers were there at the behest of their nation; they submitted to their nation in the name of virtue in order to "rescue" their country.

Their behavior was societally determined, nothing to do with biology. How sad: the pathetic, patriotic young men, performing their "duty." And then the academics claim they are behaving as a response to an innate "aggressive drive." How sad.

Watch the video. Abandon the convoluted theory that warfare is rooted in biology--an idea entirely lacking in empirical support. How sad that many in the academic world embrace this convoluted theory.

Darwin's theory of evolution by natural selection is valid for animals. Of course. And yes, human beings are animals. But they are also human beings, a different kind of animal. Unlike other animals--their minds create abstract concepts, metaphysical theories like the idea of "the nation."
