HITLER AND BIN LADEN: RELIGIOUS FUNDAMENTALISTS
________________________________________________________

The Final Solution was designed to punish Jews for their anti-social attitude. Hitler believed Jews were incalcitrant: lacking idealism; unwilling to die for a sacred ideal. Lack of idealism, according to Hitler, was a genetically fixed Jewish trait.

The Final Solution was terrorism undertaken by believers. The Nazis project toward Jews (actually toward everyone in the world) was tp destroy disbelief by killing those who did not worship "Germany." Like radical Moslems, their philosophy was "death to the nonbelievers." Hitler was a religious fundamentalists.

The religious fundamentalist believes there is one true God. Everyone must worship and bow down to this god. Those who do worship and bow down to the one true god are infidels who threaten one’s faith. Acts of violence seek to punish or destroy non-believers, rescuing one’s faith.

Osama Bin Laden stated that the Islamic religion believes Allah has "created us for the purpose of worshiping Him." He cites a passage in the Qur’an urging people to "fight for the cause of Allah and to kill pagans wherever they are found." The purpose of jihad is to rouse believers in order to "restrain the fury of the non-believers." Acts of violence function to punish and destroy people whose belief systems threaten "the truth."

Act of terror—such as the bombing of the World Trade Center—are designed to create shock and awe and thus to compel belief in the face of nonbelief, conveying the idea: "This is the fate of those who do not believe in Allah." And: "Do you doubt the power of (our) God? This is what He is capable of."

Fanatic believers feel everyone must worship and submit to the one true god. True believers react with rage imagining the existence of those who do not worship their god. To maintain the truth, nonbelievers must be killed.
