Today is Saturday, April 30,, 2022!  Whether we like the number 30 or not, whether we like Saturday or not, today is Saturday, April 30, 2022 and cannot be otherwise!  This expression is very important--cannot be otherwise.  Today is the 30th, yesterday was the 29th, and tomorrow will be May 1.  It is easy to accept this.  We have no complaints, no objections.  When it comes to some other matter, however, even though we know it cannot be otherwise, we delude ourselves by thinking that it can be otherwise.

The gap between the fact of it cannot be otherwise and the hope that it can be otherwise is what brings us all sort of negative feelings, such as frustration, anxiety and dissatisfaction.  If we were only able to accept everything that happens as nicely as we accept the fact that today is April 30, 2022 without fail, our minds would be at peace.  And this "mind at peace" is exactly what we are seeking.
