Airplanes, lightbulbs and warfare: cultural inventions, the product of human imagination. Nothing to do with biology. The expression of human desire and articulation of human fantasies.
Not difficult to understand why we enjoy lightbulbs, a little more difficult to comprehend why human beings decided they wanted to fly.
But why do human beings like war? Why did we create or invent this human institution?
Somehow, we want to know (and do know) that there are billions of stars and billions of galaxies. What prevents us from wanting to know why we desire war?
Richard Koenigsberg
PS: Although recently, we don't seem to love or enjoy war as much as we used to. This too has to be explained. Nothing to do with changes in our genes. We have so many other exciting things to do now. Don't need the sado-masochistic sexual excitement that war brings.
