The flag is a transitional object (SEE BELOW), substitute for THE MOTHER. An operational definition of "symbiosis:" the union of two into one. It's a performance, but also deeply felt. The flag symbolizes the mother (country). Union with the mother (country) is the source of cultural violence. If you don't love your mother (enough), you will be punished.

"Relational psychology" as the source of evil. If you love your mother (country), you can do anything in her name. And if you don't love her enough, you deserve to be punished. SEPARATION IS FORBIDDEN. "You will be a Nazi or we will bash your head in."

In the name of the mother (country), all is permitted: essence or core of political violence. The bedrock. Union with the mother (country)--allowing any and all forms of violence. The maternal super-ego as the source of evil; the releaser. 

Violence based on weakness and refusal to separate. Proof that you are a "good boy." Counter-phobic masculinity--based on infantile attachment to the mother (country). Rage against those who are separate (free). Fascism = compel everyone to duplicate this toxic, passive form of attachment.
