"Adolf Hitler, Doctor of
the German People."

Growing out of Hitler's conception of Germany as a living organism, a second proposition followed: that the nation was suffering from a disease that might prove fatal.
Hitler was delegated "Doctor" of the people--who could identify and remove the source or cause of the disease.
It might seem strange or bizarre that a national movement could be based on such a phantasy. But this phantasy has been the source of many genocidal movements.
Hitler identified "Jews" as the source of his nation's disease. Several other national leaders have identified "capitalists" as the pathogen.
Equally fantastic is the notion that "Mexicans" are the source of national suffering.
In any case, the template generating societal action is the same: "save the country" by destroying the cause or source of its disease.
Genocide is a medical ideology.
