"The Stream of Blood which flows for Germany is Eternal" (Rudolf Hess)
Richard A. Koenigsberg

Rudolf Hess crystallized Nazi ideology in the following statement: “The stream of blood which flows for Germany is eternal—the sacrifice of German men for their Volk is eternal—therefore Germany will also be eternal.”

Hitler's objective--his primary goal--was the endless flow of German blood; the continual sacrifice of his own people. The end of the Second World War meant the cessation of the flow of German blood; the end of the sacrificial death.

Given that he could no longer orchestrate the flow of German blood (when there was "no more leading to do," as put it), Hitler allowed himself to experience the joy of marriage--on the last day of his life.
