HITLER AS THE ROBERT KOCH OF GERMANY:
Destroying the Jewish Virus in Order to Save the Nation

Richard Koenigsberg

The foundation of Nazism was not Darwinism, but immunology. Hitler believed he was the "Robert Koch" of Germany who had discovered the source of the nation's disease. On February 22, 1942 Hitler declared:

The discovery of the Jewish virus is one of the greatest revolutions that has taken place in the world. The battle in which we are engaged today is of the same sort as the battle waged by Pasteur and Koch. How many diseases have their origin in the Jewish virus! We shall regain our health only by eliminating the Jew.

This was the fantasy upon which the Final Solution was generated. Hitler actualized this fantasy in the Final Solution.

This was the objective of National Socialism: to remove the Jewish virus from within Germany, and then from the entire world. Genocide and warfare were based on the desire to destroy the Jewish virus; to save the world.

Hitler attacked the Soviet Union not as the desire for "conquest" (the word does not appear a single time in Hitler's writings), but in order to destroy the root cause--the "source"--of "Jewish-Bolshevik bacteria," which Hitler believed were "seeping in" from the East.

History grows out of psychotic fantasies that are projected into reality. When a psychotic fantasy is shared by members of a populace, we call it "social movement."

We witness a similar psychotic fantasy dominating recent American politics. Donald Trump proclaimed that Mexicans were "seeping in" from down below, working toward the destruction of the United States. Fortunately, at least until the present moment, he has not been as well organized as Hitler was. Not even close.

And unlike true revolutionaries, he has refused to "own" his wish. He fantasies destruction of the American state, but cannot say it. He pretends to keep his desires a secret, even as they are obvious.

From the beginning, Hitler wanted to destroy the "Jew state." He wrote about this idea, promoted it, and organized around it. Nazism was a revolutionary movement. Eventually, he enacted his revolutionary desire in the Final Solution and subsequently killed tens-of-millions of Jewish-Bolsheviks.

Historian revel in the fact that Hitler "lost" the war. But he didn't see it this way. At the  end he declared, "We have lanced the Jewish ulcer, and the world will be entirely grateful to us."

CONQUEST

WARRIORS AGAINST DISEASE

Writing on the history of German medicine, Paul Weindling (1993) describes how bacteriologists became aligned with the state—through the use of military analogies. Koch described how "alien parasites" entered the body. Laboratory researchers were compared to soldiers: "Warrior against disease."

There was widespread adulation of Koch. Thousands of handkerchiefs on which his face was embroidered were sold. Just as the bacterium causing tuberculosis had been isolated, so it was hoped that the germs of mental illness, criminality and feeble-mindedness could also be located.

The Nazi movement--and the Final Solution--built upon Koch's theories. The state was viewed as an actual body (politic) from which Jewish "parasites" had to be removed if Germany was to regain its health.

Called an "instant classic" and the "best critical analysis in English of Hitler's thought," Hitler's Ideology provides the empirical foundation out of which Koenigsberg's theories evolved.
