Cheerful young German men--on their way to be slaughtered in the First World war. Average age? Perhaps 19. Please scroll down for photos.
Young men: the most oppressed group of the 20th century. Yet we/they are unwilling to acknowledge this oppression: sent by their societies to be maimed and killed.
The "big lie:" Pretending abject submission is "masculinity." The gaslighting of young men. Persuading them that they are "heroes" so they will go to their deaths without complaint.
Historians as gaslighters: keeping the heroic narrative alive. Pretending that abject submission is virility and masculinity.
Like sheep to the slaughter.
