WAR AGAINST A VIRUS
I was about to give up trying to make my point about the difference between real dangers--and fantasized dangers. But lo-and-behold, a CARTOON (thanks to Tony Jenkins) below, which illustrates my idea beautifully.
THE DEFENSE SYSTEM is designed to deal with FANTASIZED DANGERS (that everyone imagines are "real)."
But the defense system is PARALYZED in the face of a real danger (the TINY VIRUS is blown up to gigantic proportions in the cartoon). THE MILITARY APPARATUS IS JUST A BURDEN.
THE SOLDIER CANNOT SEE. He is blinded by all the commitment weighing upon him.
He cannot save the world.
Best regards,
