About this Event

Please join us for a very special evening as Dr. Richard A. Koenigsberg, psychologist, historian and leading authority on Hitler and Nazism, discusses his most influential work, Hitler's's Ideology: A Study in Psychoanalytic Sociology.

Hitler’s Ideology is the first scholarly work to study political rhetoric from the perspective of embodied metaphor. Hailed as an “instant classic” it revealed the biological fantasy that lay at the heart of Nazism and the Holocaust. Through analysis of Hitler’s rhetoric—the words, images and metaphors contained within his writing and speeches—Koenigsberg’s study reveals the “hidden narratives” that were the source of genocide.

Dr. Ruth Stein says that Koenigsberg's ideas “enable us to see human institutions in utterly new ways.“ Political activist Lee Hall says that Dr. Koenigsberg's message is one that “anyone interested in changing the course of history should reflect upon.“
