Library of Social Science Book Exhibits
What's Happening Now

Mei Ha Chan just left New York City via LaGuardia airport headed for Albquerque to do onsite work for the Southwestern Psychological Association (SWPA) meeting.

Roshni Patel--our West Coast Book Exhibit Manager--just got back from the meeting of the Pacific Sociological Association's (PSA) in Oakland, California, which was hugely successful.

Roshni has had a few days to recuperate, is attending a class tonight (she's a graduate student in psychology), then will be heading out this evening to Denver for the Rocky Mountain Psychological Association (RMPA) conference.

I'm on my own in my office. I'm working on a presentation for the International Holocaust Conference coming up in three weeks. Library of Social Science will also be organizing the book exhibit for this meeting. Mei Ha and I will take the wonderful Amtrak trainride from Penn Station to Boston

In a moment, I'll have some Dunkin' Donuts Iced Coffee (that I much prefer to Starbucks).

Descriptions of the four conferences I've just discussed are below. We'll have time for recollection and reports when Mei Ha returns from the SWPA and Roshni from the RMPA. In the meantime, you may wish to scroll down to take a look at several beautiful photos from last year's meetings (including PSA, SWPA, RMPA--and several others).

Word on the street is that a Library of Social Science book exhibit is a "sight to behold" (or is that site, or cite?), Please take a look

Best regards,

An International Holocaust Conference: Mein Kampf: Prelude to the Holocaust

In 2016, historians at Munich’s Institute of Contemporary History published a 2000 page, annotated 2-volume edition of Hitler’s blueprint for the new Germany, Mein Kampf. This international conference hosts speakers from Germany, Israel and the US presenting their scholarly work showing how Hitler’s original writing in Mein Kampf on nationalism, expansionism, warfare and anti-Semitism led to the tragedy of WWII and the Holocaust. The panelists will bring their expertise to bear on subjects ranging from propaganda to anti-Semitism to Lebensraum, and from political violence to Jewish Bolshevism. The conference is co-organized by renowned filmmaker, Prof. John J. Michalczyk (Boston College), and Prof. Michael Bryant (Bryant University).
