Dear Colleague,
LIBRARY OF SOCIAL SCIENCE is organizing a book exhibit for the 2016 International Society for Psychological and Social Approaches to Psychosis-US (ISPS-US) meeting.
ISPS champions the application of psychoanalysis, cognitive-behavioral and related individual, family and group therapies, in contrast to the current reliance on medication to treat psychotic disorders.
Their rich conference brings together mental health professionals—psychologists, psychiatrists and nurses—as well as service users and their families. Topics discussed include all schools and methods of psychotherapy; drama, art and music therapy; psychotherapy’s interaction with genetics and neurology; the realities of those who have experienced psychosis; and phenomenology and society.
This promises to be the most exciting psychology and psychotherapy related conference of the year—one publishers cannot afford to miss!
This year’s Keynote Speaker is Michael Stein (College of William & Mary). Plenary Speakers include Pat Wright, MEd; Georgia Case; Joan Fiset, MA; Judy E Murray, RN; Cindy Peterson-Dana, MA, MEd; Casadi "Khaki" Marino, (LCSW); Diana Babcock and Berta Britz, MSW, ACSW, CPS.
The 2016 ISPS-US meeting will examine varied perspectives and points of view on the question of treatment and recovery. Mental institutions, the traditional road to "treatment," are now more and more closed. Many patients now reliant on community agencies or shelters—or ending up on the street. What treatments can lead to recovery? Individual and group psychotherapies, case histories, data on recovery and theoretic understandings of extreme states of mind will all be discussed.
Space is limited. For details on exhibiting at the 2016 ISPS-US meeting, please email Hugh Galford by clicking here.
