Increasingly, sociologists are called upon to work outside academia in settings such as government, NGOs, private organizations, and independent consulting. AACS promotes the application of sociological knowledge for beneficial social change through scholarly, educational, community and policy activities. Members are both educators and practitioners, interested in advancing research and methods to influence policy decisions and practical applications. This year’s conference addresses the involvement of sociologists in research, teaching, activism and clinical work at the local, national and global level.
This is one of the best opportunities of the year to promote your titles on the full range of sociological topics: sociological research and method, social theory and issues, politics, economics, race, gender, age, criminology and policy.
ABOUT THE BOOK EXHIBIT
Located at the heart of the meeting space, the AACS book exhibit offers participants— influential educators and researchers—the opportunity to select from a comprehensive collection of the latest and most significant books and journals. Attendees seek monographs for their own research and texts for classroom adoption.
Our professional exhibit managers will be on-site from the beginning of the conference to its conclusion. We actively promote your titles by distributing flyers and catalogs, discussing books with conferees, selling books on-site using publisher-supplied order forms, and urging faculty to consider titles for course adoption and library acquisition.
