LIBRARY OF SOCIAL SCIENCE BOOK EXHIBITS

Joint Conference of the International Society for the History of
Behavioral & Social Sciences (Cheiron) and the Int’l Society
for the History of the Neurosciences (ISHN)
June 16-19, 2011  —  University of Calgary

Book Exhibit

Cheiron is the international society for scholars working on the history, methodology and development of the human sciences. The Society examines the evolution of scientific research and practices in the fields of anthropology, sociology, psychology, psychoanalysis and medicine. ISHN promotes research in the history of neuroscience, increasing understanding of the clinical and behavioral neurosciences; ancient and non-Western topics; and significant individuals, events and technical advances. Historians, neuroscientists, psychologists, psychiatrists and other professionals will gather at this year’s joint meeting to discuss historiographical, philosophical and methodological aspects of the behavioral, social and sciences.

Attendees at this conference look for teaching and research materials in all domains of the behavioral and social sciences, the history of science and ideas, philosophy and methodology, and the works of leading researchers and theorists.

This is the best meeting of the year to promote your books on the history of psychology and the neurosciences, philosophy of science, history of science, and education in the behavioral and social sciences.

ABOUT THE BOOK EXHIBIT

The LIBRARY OF SOCIAL SCIENCE BOOK EXHIBIT will once again be a featured component of the Cheiron meeting. Located at the center of the meeting space, our exhibit will offer conferees a unique opportunity to buy books from a comprehensive collection of the latest and most significant titles in the field. Scholars will review books, catalogues and promotional literature in a setting conducive to thoughtful evaluation for research and classroom use.

Our professional exhibit managers actively promote titles by distributing flyers and catalogs, discussing books with conferees, selling books on-site using publisher-supplied order forms, and urging faculty to consider titles for course adoption and library acquisition.
