LIBRARY OF SOCIAL SCIENCE BOOK EXHIBITS

Annual Conference of the Association for Applied & Clinical Sociology: “Expanding the Sociological Practice Paradigm: Applied,
Clinical, Public & Translational Dimensions”
October 14-16, 2010 •  St. Louis, MO

Book ExhibitIncreasingly, sociologists are called upon to work outside academia in settings such as government, NGOs, private organizations, independent consulting and public sociology. AACS promotes the application of sociological knowledge for beneficial social change through scholarly, educational, community and policy activities. Members are both educators and practitioners, interested in advancing research and methods to influence policy decisions and practical applications. This year’s conference will address how sociologists are involved in research, teaching, activism and clinical work at the local, national and global level.

This is one of the best opportunities of the year to promote your titles on the full range of sociological topics: sociological research and method, social theory and issues, politics, economics, race, gender, age, criminology and policy.

ABOUT THE BOOK EXHIBIT

Located at the heart of the meeting space, our exhibit offers participants—influential educators and researchers—the opportunity to select from a comprehensive collection of the latest and most significant books and journals. Attendees seek monographs for their own research and texts for classroom adoption.

Our professional exhibit managers actively promote your titles by distributing flyers and catalogs, discussing books with conferees, selling titles on-site using publisher-supplied order forms, and urging instructors to consider titles for course adoption and library acquisition. Attendees visit our exhibits repeatedly in the course of a meeting. Space is limited.
