Does the fact that NATIONS HAVE THE RIGHT TO KILL (free e-book) Dear Reader of the IOWGT Newsletter, I came across the quote below on a website last week: something said several years ago (alongside quotes from a few colleagues):
The fact that young men are slaughtered in warfare is the other side of the coin of the fact that NATIONS HAVE THE RIGHT TO KILL, the title of my recently published book. The word “slaughter” is more evocate than the term “sacrifice,” which I often use. Sadly, people feel warmed by the idea of sacrifice: knowing that men have died or been maimed in the name of a sacred ideal. Perhaps, as I put it in Chapter III: “As the Soldier Dies, so the Nation comes Alive.” Click here to download the entire book at no charge. Is my argument correct? I’d like you to read and evaluate it in its entirety. Perhaps I’ll be able to abandon my hypothesis. On the other hand, if my hypothesis is correct, I need your support: helping to spread the idea; solidifying this new understanding of the meaning of warfare. You may download the entire book at no charge (141 pages, 843 Kb).The download is identical to the hardbound version that is listed (with a selling price of $45.95) on Amazon.com.
