LIBRARY OF SOCIAL SCIENCE BOOK EXHIBITS

22nd Annual Meeting of the Human Behavior and Evolution Society
University of Oregon, Eugene • June 16-20, 2010

Book ExhibitHBES is the leading professional association for scholars, scientists and researchers working at the frontiers of evolutionary psychology. This fast-growing, influential discipline constitutes a revolution in our understanding of human preferences, motives and reasoning procedures. The annual HBES conference explores fundamental issues as well as the latest breakthroughs in topics such as group behavior in humans and animals, political participation, cooperation, sexuality, violence, stress, emotions, race, social stratification, prejudice, consumer behavior and aesthetics. 500 people—from fields as varied as psychology and anthropology to economics and political science—are expected to attend this exciting, five-day conference, the most important of 2010 on evolutionary approaches to psychology and anthropology.

This is the best meeting of the year to promote your titles on evolutionary psychology and related disciplines to some of the most prominent scholars and scientists in the world from the fields of anthropology, biology, psychiatry, psychology, law, neuroscience, genetics, economics, animal behavior, cognitive science, sociology, political science and philosophy.

ABOUT THE BOOK EXHIBIT

The Library of Social Science’s book exhibit will once again be a major attraction of the HBES conference. At the center of the meeting space, near registration, coffee breaks and keynote presentations, our exhibit will offer participants the opportunity to select from a comprehensive collection of the latest and most significant books and journals in the field.

This is one of our most popular exhibits. At our 2009 HBES book exhibit, LSS promoted 41 publishers’ titles, displaying 257 books and journals. Our professional exhibit managers will be on-site from the beginning of the conference to its conclusion. We actively promote your books by discussing them with conferees, distributing promotional material, selling books on-site using publisher-supplied order forms and urging attendees to consider titles for course adoption and library acquisition.
