LIBRARY OF SOCIAL SCIENCE BOOK EXHIBITS

Joint Spring Meeting of the Society for Psychological Anthropology (SPA) and the Society for the Anthropology of Religion (SAR): “Moments of Crisis: Decision, Transformation, Catharsis, Critique”
March 27-29, 2009 • Asilomar, CA

LSSThe increasing social diversity in our world has created the need for cross-cultural approaches to psychology and the study of religion. SPA is a dynamic group of prominent researchers and teachers who work toward understanding the interaction between psychic and cultural factors in human development and behavior. SAR brings together prominent scholars to study religion from anthropological, psychological and philosophical perspectives.

The theme of this year’s meeting is “Crisis.” Crisis refers to moments of insecurity, discontinuity and change. This conference examines these moments of insecurity, discontinuity and change—the world in which we live today.

Attendees at this meeting are avid book buyers intent upon keeping up with the latest publications. This is the best opportunity of the year to promote your titles to a prime market of scholars and teachers seeking monographs and texts for research and course use on the anthropology of religion,  cultural psychology, cognitive psychology, cross-cultural psychology, linguistic anthropology, medical anthropology, child development, globalization, and cultural factors in mental health issues.

Space is limited. Please fill out and fax your reservation form as soon as possible to reserve a space for your press.

ABOUT THE BOOK EXHIBIT

The Library of Social Science is once again organizing the publication exhibition for the conference. Located at the center of the meeting site, our exhibit offers conferees a unique opportunity to buy books from a comprehensive collection of titles from the major publishers. Our professional exhibit managers actively promote titles by distributing flyers and catalogs, discussing books with attendees, selling books on-site using publisher supplied order forms, and urging faculty to consider titles for course adoption and library acquisition.
